I would have to agree to some degree. I find myself doing the Hokey Pokey from time to time, turning myself all about in music class as I work with my students. I would even turn myself inside out if necessary! To me what &#8220;it&#8221; is all about is helping my students to understand and\u00a0enjoy\u00a0\u00a0music, while encouraging them to perform with confidence and pride.\u00a0 This past weekend they all did just that!<\/p>\n<p>Year end recitals are always exciting for me. I love it especially when a student aces a\u00a0section they had been struggling with for weeks.\u00a0 The look on their face is priceless and I am sure it is a reflection of my happy surprise!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Moms and Dads need to be congratulated. Music lesson success is 30 percent teacher input and 70 percent student output. Without regular practice and review at home, progress is slow. For my young students, this means commitment on the part of parents too\u00a0and so thank you for all you do to support your child&#8217;s musical journey. A special &#8220;thank you&#8221; for attending yesterday&#8217;s concert and for inviting extended family. I know that the children felt very important playing for such a large audience.<\/p>\n<p>How awesome it is to hear students ask, &#8220;Can we do that again?!&#8221; or say\u00a0&#8220;That concert was so much fun!&#8221; What a pleasure it is to watch parents and grandparents congratulate the young musicians on a job well done.\u00a0\u00a0Yes boys and girls, we will do it again!
