New year, new outlook.
Happy 2011! I can hardly believe that we are 11 years into this millennium already! After a relaxing holiday I am ready to get back into the groove and so is my family. Practice and homework routines have been revamped and we are all excited to tackle the next portion of the school year.
Perhaps your practice routine is working well already, in which case you can jump back into it and carry on. Maybe adding an extra goal will give you added motivation to push yourself just a little more. You could try an exam or compete in a festival.
If your practice schedule was more hit and miss than the TML making the Stanley Cup playoffs (sorry – house full of TO fans here…couldn’t resist)then a practice schedule makeover is just what you need to start 2011 off on the right foot.
Go for 5 short practices each week. As you get adept at making those short practices happen regularly you can increase the length of those practices gradually. The key is to make practicing a habit. We rarely complain about tasks that are just part of every day routine….we just do them.
Here is to a successful year and to happy music making!
Cheers!!
